This policy explains how ROARSTIX (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores and protects your personal information when you visit roarstix.com, buy from us, or contact us. We process personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and other applicable South African law.

Who we are

ROARSTIX is a brand of Shroombrew Wellness Industries (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2023/264451/07, a South African company based in Pretoria, Gauteng. Shroombrew Wellness Industries (Pty) Ltd is the responsible party for your personal information under POPIA. Our website address is https://roarstix.com. What we collect

  • Order details: your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, and the products you buy.
  • Account details: if you create an account, your login email, a securely hashed password, and your order history.
  • Payment information: payments are processed by Payfast. We never see or store your card number or banking details. We receive only confirmation that payment was made and a transaction reference.
  • Messages: anything you send us through the contact form, by email, or on social media.
  • Reviews and comments: the name, email address and content you submit when you review a product.
  • Technical data: your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you visit and the site that referred you, collected through cookies and our site statistics tool.

Why we collect it

  • To process, pack and deliver your order, and to send you order confirmations and delivery updates.
  • To answer your enquiries and provide customer support.
  • To create and manage your account, if you have one.
  • To keep the records South African tax and consumer law require us to keep.
  • To prevent fraud, protect our website, and keep it working properly.
  • To understand how our site is used so we can improve it.
  • To send you news and offers by email, but only if you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email or by contacting us.

We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making or profiling.

Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary with:

  • Payfast (Pty) Ltd, our payment processor, to take payment securely.
  • Courier and locker services (for example The Courier Guy and Pudo), who receive your name, delivery address and phone number to deliver your order.
  • Our website hosting provider, which stores the website and its database.
  • Automattic (WordPress.com and Jetpack), which provides site statistics, spam protection and security monitoring.
  • Professional advisers such as our accountant, and authorities where the law requires it.

We never sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to remember what is in your basket, keep you logged in, remember your cookie preference, and collect anonymous statistics about how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site, including the checkout, will not work properly without essential cookies.

Where your information is stored

Our website is hosted in South Africa. Some of our service providers, including Automattic and Payfast’s technology partners, may store or process information outside South Africa. Where this happens we make sure the recipient is bound by law or by agreement to protect your information to a standard at least equal to POPIA.

How long we keep it

  • Order and payment records: five years after the transaction, as required by South African tax law.
  • Account details: for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterwards. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
  • Enquiries and support messages: up to two years after the matter is closed.
  • Marketing consent: until you unsubscribe.

How we protect it

We use HTTPS encryption across the whole site, restrict access to the website administration to authorised people only, keep our software up to date, and use reputable hosting with regular backups. No system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please let us know immediately if you suspect any misuse of your information.

Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy.
  • Ask us to correct or update information that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete your information, subject to records we must keep by law.
  • Object to us processing your information for direct marketing, and withdraw consent you have given.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa (www.inforegulator.org.za).

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@roarstix.com. We will respond as soon as reasonably possible and within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

Children

Our products and website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on the website.
